The Blind Surfer Foundation Mission
The Blind Surfer Foundation (BSF) was formed in June of 2022 by Pete Gustin in loving memory of his best friend and service dog, Superdog. After a sudden diagnosis of lung cancer and an enlarged bleeding heart, Pete set out to “find a way” for his beloved pup so he could enjoy his final moments by zooming all around the beaches Pete surfs every day.
Two weeks after Superdog passed, Pete’s YouTube Channel surpassed 1-Million subscribers. To honor his best friend and keep his memory alive, Pete created the BSF to help raise funds that are distributed to those research facilities and hospitals in the U.S. that are most dedicated to finding an overall cure for blindness.
Established as a California-based non-profit organization, with 501(c)3 non-profit status filed as of 7/12/22, Superdog’s legacy of service lives on as this Foundation hopes to be able to help millions worldwide see with clarity.
Support Our Cause
The BSF primary goal will be to raise funds to help support research facilities and hospitals in the U.S. who are working to find a cure for overall blindness. Those doctors and researchers who have shown the most promise and the most dedication to finding a cure will directly benefit from these funds.
Whether the cure be stem cell, regrowth, rejuvenation, transplant or some other form of a cure not yet thought of, the BSF will help to make sure these doctors and researchers have everything they need to make progress in the fight. Along with accepting both private and corporate donations, the BSF will be licensing merchandise and apparel from The Blind Surfer brand and creating our own merchandise to sell and raise funds for the cause.
